Unusual hand mounted 18ct gold,pretty cabochon "Star" sapphire & old cut diamond claw & rub-over set cluster ring.The dome shape of the sapphire accentuates the "Star" effect,called asterism.It is of a fine blue colour,normally lost with these stones.It measures approximately 8mm in diameter & 6mm in height.The sixteen old cut diamonds are individually rub-over set with the mille grain edge still just visible.The total diamond weight is approximately 0.40cts.Dating C1900.
